Verona - a fictional run-down city in the 21st century,
whose inhabitants are all more or less involved
in the conflict between the two families Montague and Capulet.
In the midst of this madness live two young people,
who do not really fit into this world of corruption, violence and intrigue.

Romeo is the leader of the Montague gang
and is looking for a way to make sense of his life in a city
without prospects and to escape the eternal madness of everyday life.

Juliet is the niece of the most influential woman in Verona.
Well protected and guarded like a treasure by her family,
she has never seen the streets of Verona
and lives a life that is more like imprisonment.

The Montagues are a gang of young men and women,
who came to Verona as foreigners, strangers and migrants,
and who are still looking for their place in society.

The Capulets, an old-established clan with a mafia structure,
are trying to gain influence through political intrigue.

First and foremost, the two street gangs, to which teenagers and young adults of the two families belong, wage a bitter street war with each other,
which totally escalates when Romeo Montague and Julia Capulet fall in love with each other, although the latter is promised to the local politician Paris Rossi.

The film provides an insight into the microcosm of a fictional Verona, tells every story,
no matter how small, that leads to the ultimately devastating hatred and shows the abysses
and futile glimmers of hope of a society built on precisely this titular hatred,
drawing clear parallels to the current social situation and the division developing within it.

The story is told from the point of view of the survivors and their memories of what happened, because, as we know, the most famous love tragedy of all time does not have a happy ending.
Those survivors sit in the police interrogation and tell how they experienced the past events.
