"The Rolling Shadow"

"What is extreme? I think it's perverse and extreme to sit in the office for eight hours.
That's hardcore.
I can't do that, that's extreme!"
- Stefan Schlegel

"It is a privilege to live here and to enjoy nature. No matter if it is the sea, sun, wind, beach or earth - whatever. I am so grateful to be able to enjoy it, thanks to a healthy body." - Stefan Schlegel

It is the year 2014:
From Oceanside (Califonia) on the west coast to Philadelphia (Pennsylvania) on the east coast, Stefan Schlegel rides his bike without regard for losses
in a daring race against time, against his fellow competitors
and above all against himself.

Stefan's journey is marked by challenges, inner and outer resistance, cohesion and love
- but also by the harsh reality that not only metaphorically brings him down -
one more reason for the (extreme) athlete to get up again and keep going.

8 years later, in january 2022, in a time when freedom of travel and adventure have become rare, we have decided to tackle Stefan's fight against himself and nature anew
and to finish the film, which could not be produced at that time due to lack of funds,
on our own.
