Germany, winter, 2020's: The country is in a war whose causes, course and conflicts are not discussed further.
Two nameless soldiers, scattered by their unit, wander through the misty forest and come across a deserted lake. Once there, they kill a supposed disarteur and decide to continue their journey on the murdered man's canoe.

On their journey, which lasts several days, they find dead bodies and meet two supposed comrades who have been stuck in a hole in the ground for ages and have long since gone mad. The two explain to them that the entire surrounding area is mined. In short, there seems to be no way out. Distraught by their condition, they leave their comrades and continue to search for an escape route.
Two comrades who have gone mad (Andreas Schlegel and Bernhard Schröder) have a nasty surprise for the two protagonists.
